Dear
Billie,
We are
shocked and terribly saddened by the news of Milt's death. Milt was a
true friend and dedicated colleague of mine for over 30 years.I always
recognized and appreciated Milt's dedication to improving the lives of
people with disabilities. He never wavered from that goal
whatever the shifts in public opinion or bureaucratic
policies. Milt was always generous with his time in mentoring
those new to the field. His commitment to high standards and
his courage as an advocate were wonderful examples not only to those
new to rehabilitation but to the rest of us as well. Bill Wasmuth
and I enjoyed having him teach with us and I know he enjoyed
those many years of being part of the Cornell extension faculty.
Gail
and I are both grateful that we were able to spend time with you and
Milt last winter. We have happy memories of that last personal
visit and I will miss the many enjoyable and helpful phone
conversations I had with Milt.
We plan
to be in Phoenix again next January and look forward to seeing
you then. if you want a break from the heat this summer do think
of coming east for a visit. We would love to have you stay with
us.
Our
thoughts and prayers are with you during this terribly difficult
time. If there is any way we can help you or your family, please
do not hesitate to let us know. You have our deepest sympathy.
Love
to you,
Ron
and Gail
